Patience in Every Stroke

In this painting, I dove deep into realism — every wrinkle, every shadow, every tiny detail in the fabric. Realism is both a joy and a test of patience. It’s like telling your brush, “Please behave,” while your hand whispers, “Don’t mess this up now!”

Many people ask me, “How do you stay patient when a painting gets tricky?” — a great follow-up to the question from our last post. Honestly? Sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I walk away and give the canvas a chance to miss me. Then when I come back, it behaves better. (Or maybe it’s just me behaving better πŸ€”).

🌟 A Few Tips

  1. Zoom in, zoom out – Don’t get stuck on a single wrinkle for hours. Step back and see the bigger picture.

  2. Break it into bites – Think of the canvas like a giant pizza. Paint slice by slice, not the whole thing at once.

  3. Patience is practice – Every stroke is a test, and every test builds your skill.

“As always, I’ll end with a question: Do you think realism is worth the hours, or do you prefer art that’s fast and free?
